The Discovery Channel is planning to air a viral pandemic survival reality show this summer. The reality show will be entitled "The Colony" and it will feature ten people who represent a "cross section" of American life who are survivors of a fictional viral pandemic and who must work together to rebuild society. It is interesting that such a show would come out when we are on the edge of what could be the greatest flu pandemic that the world has ever seen. Is this simply an effort by the Discovery Channel to be timely, or is this part of "conditioning" us to accept what is about to come?
