Just two months ago, 25 year old Desiree Jennings was training for a half marathon and was enjoying life as a Washington Redskins cheerleader. But then she received a seasonal flu vaccine at a local grocery store. 10 days after taking the flu shot, Desiree began experiencing very serious flu symptoms, followed by severe convulsions and black outs. She rapidly developed a debilitating and irreversible neurological disease and now she can barely talk or walk and her once promising life has all but been destroyed.
Jennings says that she visited about 60 doctors to find out what was wrong with her, and ultimately doctors at Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins diagnosed her with a rare neurological disorder known as dystonia. They believe that it was caused by a severe reaction to the flu vaccine.
Dystonia is a paralyzing neurological disorder that causes the muscles to relentlessly contract and spasm. You can clearly see how severely this disorder has affected her in the videos below.
There is no cure for dystonia and it only gets worse over time.

Jennings told WUSA News that she is absolutely convinced that it was the flu vaccine that caused her dystonia: "Nothing else explains such a fast moving neurological damage. The medical hospitals ruled out everything, CAT scans normal, blood normal, MRI normal. The only thing that explains it is the shot caused the neurological damage."
Her husband Brendan added this: "It gets worse everyday. It's heartbreaking to see."

The FDA says that they found nothing wrong with this particular batch of flu vaccine at all. That means that it was a "normal" batch of flu vaccine that did this to her.

Desiree and Brendan plan to visit the Mayo Clinic in Arizona in November. They hope to find some answers and they hope to learn how they can live with this disease.
Because there is no cure.
And thanks to the U.S. government, Desiree cannot sue the vaccine manufacturer for what has happened to her.
Vaccine manufacturers have been given blanket immunity.
But the U.S. government and world health authorities keep insisting that these flu vaccines are perfectly safe.

Please know that through this information we will all be praying for you. Also know that you are helping to spare others from this terrible tragedy. I will not ever take another flu shot. I took one in 1993 and I was extremely ill and it cost tons of money to get better. Lucky for me the symptoms did subside with time. Desiree, please tell people never to trust the Government with your health. They do not research any of this medication nearly enough.

I too have taken the flu vaccine on Sept. 16th 2009 and have had reaction to the shot that was different yet very scary and the symptoms seem to change regularly. Of course, I was a perfectly healthy woman of 56 when administered and have had the flu and strange symptoms since. I contacted the community center where the shot was taken and have been told that it was not the shot as others had the same lot but no reaction. My symtoms were high fever, and not being able to walk from dizziness for 2 weeks. Then received the flu that has had me down for another 2 weeks. If anyone else has had these symptoms, I would appreciate a email. I now have pain in my feet and legs that seems to get worse daily. If I can help anyone else that has had a reaction to these shots I would be willing to work on a project to get the information out to others. Do you know if that info ever reached Des? I am one of her good friends. She did go to NC in hopes a doctor would pull the mercury out of her but I haven’t heard from her and neither her or her husband is returning phone calls right now. We’re very worried about her. She hasn’t updated her Facebook either. Please let me know if you have any other information about the doctor and if the methods take awhile/might be cause for a person to disappear for a little bit.

Dear readers, Desiree’s case is not a singular, unfortunately. I have a friend who took the flu shot in 2001 I believe, and after, started to display neurological problems in his body, like loosing muscle control all over. Since then, he has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) disease. He is unable to talk or do anything for himself, even to swallow, so he is fed through a tube in his stomach. His wife is taking care of him. It is terrible what happened to my friend, he also was fit and healthy all of his life. None of us are taking the flu shot. We have been spared from it, by the grace of God. But our friend had to be a sacrifice for all of us, to stop taking that wretched weapon against humanity. I am so sorry this happened to you. This is yet another reason I will not get the flu shots, and I work in a hospital and they are trying to make it mandatory. I am also doing a persuasive speech for my college class on persuading them not to get the flu vaccines. Stop telling people not to get the flu shot…. It doesn’t cause autism, doesn’t cause dystonia, and doesn’t even cause the flu! Influenza is still the number one killer in the course of human history, above the black death, the plague and genocide. This is surely a terrible, tragic coincidence, most likely a dormant neurological disorder that had nothing whatsoever to do with the shot, (see link) and should not deter the general public from protecting themselves and their children. You will not get this disorder from a flu shot! Stop being so easily scared, and unnecessarily reactionary…….. This will only add to the government’s already difficult task of avoiding a pandemic through vaccination. Vaccines have saved MILLIONS of lives since their inception, because they activate the body’s natural defenses in order to fight a new virus. Once you have the virus it’s already too late! Thank you for spreading some TRUTH to this sad, but deceptive story! If you’ve gotten a flu shot in the past and have ended up fine, there is no reason not to get one now. If these stories are really scaring you, talk to your doctor – talk to two. It could send your life, or your kids’ lives, or your husband/wife’s life!

Give me a break. You know – the people accusing those who refuse an untested and unlicensed shot as being uneducated or stupid are not exactly being smart themselves. You can find as many arguments for as against taking shots. Vaccines have a long and shady history. Anyone worth their salt would do some critical thinking and not try and back up their arguments without honestly looking at facts. If you do not understand the immune system – then educate yourself and learn how it works. Learn what the response is when shot is given and then put the pieces together for yourself.
I have just one question. If vaccines are soooo effective then how is my unvaccinated child a threat to your vaccinated child? If the vaccine works – what is the fear eh???

Thank you so much Ms. Realistic for telling Mr. Rational to think twice. Has he seen the video of the creatord and makers of this H1n1 shot won’t even take the shot themselves. They are actually warning their families and friends not to do so. This shot contains, mercury, resins, formaldehyde, chicken embryo (blood for the virus to feed off of) as well as other dyes. 10 days after she took the shot she starting feeling sick and symptoms worsened. “No there was no connection”, my arse! Mr. Rational did not leave a date when he took his shot. And why is there such a short age range in which you can take the shot?
As a nurse, I have administered hundreds of flu vaccines and never once saw a reaction. Everyone reacts differently to vaccines as does everyone react differently with medications. just because someone is allergic to one medication doesnt mean we tell everyone to stop taking it. I am very sorry that this Desire has had such awful things happen but no one can predict these things. She took the seasonal flu shot… not the H1N1. These are vaccines that everyone has taken or takes yearly. How many people have had these reactions? I can bet not many compared to the amount that are administered. If you are someone who chooses not to get the flu shots because of this story, then that is your choice. I have recieved both my seasonal and H1N1 this year and have had no problems.
While I do not believe it is MY place to tell people whtat to do with their bodies, I DO resent being told by anyone that I would somehow be putting my children in harm’s way. I have spent years lobbying for SAFE vaccines – ALL vaccines. Until the safety issue is settled then I will make my choices accordingly. How safe is safe? 100% – period! Any child killed or harmed by a vaccine is one too many. When it is YOUR child you get a much different perspective!

Of course there can be side effects from vaccines, but it’s important to establish causality. If Jimmy gets a flu shot and then gets run over by a bus, did the vaccine cause the accident? I maintain that it’s potty-training that causes autism as the latter tends to occur temporally correlated with the former.
It’s also important to evaluate relative risks: the seasonal flu vaccine may be associated with about 1 case of Guillane-Barre syndrom per 1million doses. The baseline rate is about 20-30 per million. In a fully vaccinated population, the rate would therefore be 21-31 per million. On the other hand, the death rate from H1N1 so far in the pediatric population is about 1 in 160 (roughly 200 deaths in 32000 confirmed cases).
If you don’t want the flu vaccine, take your chances, but don’t base your decision on tripe like the comments above, nor on a tablod story on a patient with dystonia.
Thank you Victor for your comment. I feel bad for Desiree and her family. It’s unfortunate that she developed dystonia. Yet her case is exactly what everyone is saying: RARE. I have asthma and almost died from an attack so I literally gamble for my life when I decide whether or not to get a flu shot. Do I want to risk having severe side effects or dying from an asthma attack because of the flu?
H1N1 vaccine = 40% effective against that strain of flu…according to the “experts”. Your natural immunity will give you a 50% shot at avoiding any strain of flu if you are rested and healthy….dunno – maybe its just me.

BTW – I am a family of CONFIRMED H1N1 cases….a daughter with asthma….we became sick before our Drs office even had ANY doses of vaccine so I guess should I have decided I wanted it for my kids – we would have been out of luck. You say you want vaccines to be safe before they are available. “How safe is safe? 100% – period!” That doesn’t seem like a good idea to me. No medical treatment of any kind is 100% safe. Death rates from anaesthesia during surgery are thought to be in the range of 1 out of every 100,000 in the United States. Should anaesthesia not be administered until it is 100% safe? Of course not. While the risks are there, clearly the benefits of anaesthesia are profound. The reward far outweighs the risk.
The same is true for flu vaccines. While there is a very real chance of complications with the vaccines, the number of deaths in the United States from influenza is around 60,000 per year. That number is expected to be much higher for this winter due to the fact that both H1N1 (swine flu) and the usual seasonal flu. In the United States, roughly 1 out of every 1,000 people who contract H1N1 end up dying from it. Even when you account for the fact that the vaccines are not 100% effective and that not everyone in the U.S. will contract H1N1, the benefits clearly far outweigh the risks.
