If you don’t want it, do not get it. As a pharmacist, I am familiar with the adverse effects of many drugs, including vaccinations. No job or paycheck is worth spending the rest of my life unable to walk and function like a normal human being. The risk is 1 in a million. Just hope you are not that 1. People need to re-discover their balls and backbones and realize we are free-thinking human beings, not sheep.

Hi there,
Hubby and me had the swine flu shot last year here in UK and until this time we’re still both suffering from excruciating shoulder and arm pain unrelieved by physiotheraphy, analagesia or rest. We are a testimony of the bad side effects of this. We deeply regret having the vaccine.

I believe that all the usual medicine that people used today (Tylenol, vaccines, pills to raise and lower blood pressure) treat one thing, but destroy another or not treat something, but just hide it! For example, pills to raise and lower blood pressure. A person has an unhealthy diet, his blood becomes thick, his heart can’t pump the blood through the body, so the veins contract, creating higher pressure, and now the blood reaches all parts of the body. The person finds out he has high blood pressure, takes some pills, and makes his veins relax, now the pressure is lower, and the everything starts again, his heart cant pump the blood everywhere. In the end, he takes pills every two hours, his heart can’t take it anymore, and the patient dies from a heart attack.

my husband got a flu shot nov.1 2011 .after 3 days of having the flu shot, hes arm got swollen including the elbow and after a few days his hip joint,knees and ankle including his leg is swollen, he is experiencing severe pain only relieve with mobic as prescribed by a rheumatologist ,several test had been done his uric acid is normal except for his ESR which they say is commom for inflamatory process,we also consulted an immunologist ,and prescribed steroids ,and anti viral drug, his rheumatologist prescribe him w/ steroid too,still there is no progress in his condition its been 3 mos since then ,Any help,!!!! any treatment!!! DONT BE a VICTIM ! think a hundred times before getting A FLU SHOT..

I have been informed today that if I do not take this vaccine I will not be allowed to come to work as of Monday, and I will be terminated. I work for a hospital in NC in a non patient contact position. I have a severe allergy to eggs, but I do not have a primary care physician because I do not have health insurance so I have no one to write me an exemption letter. I am only part-time and cannot afford to persue this matter. I am forced to risk my health and my life in order to save my job. IS THIS NAZI GERMANY ?????? Is there an organized group with a legal consult who will take our cases to a federal court to stop this insanity!!

I think those who have commented before are really crazy. Read the science, you should be ashamed to call yourself healthcare workers and not get vaccinated to protect your patients. Give up the conspiracy theories, this is a patient safety issue and an issue to protect other co-workers. Do you also refuse your mandatory PPD tests? Read the SHEA, CDC, APCI, AHA, APA, etc recommendations and studies. Influenza is the 6th leading cause of death in this country. Grow up

I am not in direct patient contact at a hospital but there is now a policy stating that if I do not get a flu shot then I have to wear a mask. I work in an office located in an administrative wing and seldom see patients until I walk to my car and have to pass them as they’re smoking on hospital grounds.

Personally, I find the policy humiliating, as it will single me out as being either sick or not able to have the shot. How is this not a privacy violation in and of itself? I’ve been with the same employer for nearly a decade and happy in my job – I love my work – but I find the policy to be punitive, insufferable, and thoughtless of the moral and ethical dilemmas it will create for the employees who cannot or will not, because of whatever reasons; spiritual or physical, that they may have. I am heartbroken to think that I may have to leave my job because of this issue and feel I’m being treated like a nutter for not taking the shot and feeling strongly about this change in policy.

In response to Jim Becker’s request on September 27th; you do have a right…it’s called file an official grievance with Union Representation. It’s my understanding that one main Director is forcing the wearing of masks and not others for those who haven’t received the vaccination. See your Union representative for help!!!

I am a nurse who is being forced to wear a mask for 4 straight months at work. I cannot take the flu shot due to severe allergy. while working I feel ostrasized by peers and those I am caring for. The research I have done does not demonstrate that I am a danger to my patients by not wearing a mask. Where is the data that nurses are a definite link of patients acquiring the flu from their nurse. Washing your hands are the key to stop transmission. Help !!!!

Got the flu shot. No adverse effects. My GF got the fly shot. No adverse effects. The children got the flu shot. No adverse effects. Several friends got the flu shot. No adverse effects.

Of course some people will have them; any doctor will tell you that and the little sheet of paper tells you in detail what you may expect. But haven;t you learned t]how to differentiate between anecdotal evidence and valid statistical inference yet? None of the stories of bad effect, or my story of no effects are sufficient. Look at the big picture: as in a big database with millions of people who have had it. Then we can discuss things seriously. Until then, I sort of agree with the “Anti-Idiocy Advocate”.

we nurses and health workers need to take action, there no evidence that flu is transmitted from patients in hospitals through nurses or health workers, this is a community transmitted disease, i challenge all who are forcing this, show me the proof, show me the effectiveness, quaranty me that if i take the vaccine i will not get the flu or carry it? again show me the proof.
my advice to all of you refuse the vaccine and wear a mask all six months, i wonder what the managers of these hospitals well feel if most of thier workers are wearing masks or what thier patients will think of them?

Djaq…….your an idot……most people just want the goverment to ATLEAST let the public know that the vaccines are not always safe, and could kill you!! A NOTICE, WARNING IS NOT ASKING TOO MUCH!!! DUH! AND futher more…luckily I have a good doctor who warned me NOT to take ANY flu shot!!! I have FIBROMYALGIA and she said it would be DANGEROUS for me to take it!! That it was NOT worth the risk!! ALOT of people dont have a doctor that warns them of the dangers!!! Enough said!

Last year was the first year I had the flu shot for H1N1 and I have had weird health issues ever since. I did not put two and two together until somebody at work was talking about the possible side effects. Thank goodness I heard that before I had another shot. I started out with fasciculations in my legs and eyelids. I have severe itching, especially in my right breast. I have had lots of tingling and general feeling of not being well. I seems to injure very easily if I do anything strenous. I have had back pain (radiating to my buttock) so bad for months but with steroids that has been a lot better. I think I am feeling better then something else pops up. It has now been over 14 months since all this started.

I get a flu shot every year and beyond some tenderness in the shot area there’s never an issue. Mind you I’m 59 now and have all sorts of immunity because I have never confined myself to sterile living quarters, nor have I avoided places where I might get germs on me. That’s the issue these days isn’t it? Too many people are so bug crazy they are now allergic or sensitive to virtually everything out there. if you do have contact with a virus and you have sterilized your life to such a point as your immune system is poor, your gonna react and react bad. This is self inflicted folks so get out there and get dirty. Your life may depend on it.

I am a nurse with a religious exemtion from vaccination. Recently the local hospitals here in Massachusetts refused to allow me to continue my nursing education because they have “tightened up” their policy on vaccinations. They refused to allow me to do a clinical rotation for my med-surg class. In fact, many hospitals here are now requiring ALL employees to be fully vaccinated, including the seasonal flu vaccine which by the way now has the H1N1 included in it for this year, 2011. If anyone reading this has any ability to write more on this topic or interview me please let me know.
